I still remember that image of Demi Moore posing on the cover of Vanity Fair - who doesn't?! A few years later Oprah had an entire epidose dedicated to a maternity photographer. I remember thinking THAT is what I want to do!

I have since fallen in love with photographing people at all stages in life but there's still something so special and intimate about capturing images of a mother and her unborn child. Maternity sessions remain among one of my favourites.

Paula and I met in The Bahamas just over a year ago when I was photographing her sister's wedding. When she heard I'd be in her area (New Brunswick) she immediately called to book a maternity session. I immediately started daydreaming of all the possibilities. Here are just some of my favourite shots from our afternoon session.



 

Red Umbrella Photography - California Ranch

I had the pleasure of spending the first few weeks of May in California. If you've been reading, you'll know I was there to photograph *this event*. Whenever I travel somewhere and have a few days to kill I like to try to set up other shoots - fun shoots I wouldn't necessarily be able to do in my home area. One of those shoots this trip was out on a ranch. I adore horses (and farms in general) so when I met Claire and heard she rides, I immediately suggested we schedule a shoot of her with her horse. She loved the idea so we booked the next non-rainy afternoon and headed out! Here's a sneak peek!

Red Umbrella Photography - After the Big Top Comes Down

Saturday night was the big event! I've been down here in California for just about two weeks now and the event I was brought in to photograph took place this past weekend.

Christina Stuhlmiller hosted the release of her brand new album, After the Big Top Comes Down.

I came down to California last November to photograph an Opera singer for her upcoming album. Jared is one of those kids who made me giggle throughout the entire photo shoot. He has the biggest brown eyes, a sparkling smile, and his laugh is one in a million! Here are some of my favourite shots from our afternoon together about a year ago. We have another shoot booked together in a few weeks and I can't wait to see him and his family again!
